Creativity Workshop
at Schools

Since young, my dad has always encouraged me to be creative. I have grown up watching him ¡°experiment¡± with discarded transistor radios, fans and all the high tech appliances of those eras. Of course, at those time, my mum would grumble about the mess he creates out of these ¡°Worthless¡± junks.

Little did anyone around me know, experimenting and curiosity are one of the key habits of being a creative person.

In this fast changing world, we need more and more creative professionals to tackle the many new problems not faced by our parents.

Divergent thinking and multi disciplinary analysis of complex problems are necessary skills to be developed from young.

Over the last two months, several high school students went through a half-day creative workshop organized by Raffles Design International. The students attended 3 hours of fun-filled interactive workshop on creativity. The workshop helps the student to remove mental blocks that restrict divergent thinking and helps them become aware of habits that is destructive to creative thinking.

The students did exercises specially designed by the Raffles Design team that fosters lateral thinking.

During the 3 hours, the students had the opportunity to find out what is it like to be a creative head of an advertising firm. They worked in teams to brainstorm and produce an advertisement campaign.

Of course, there were other surprises for the students during the workshops. The teams compete against each other in quizzes and games. The winning team is determined by the number of pegs they earned during the workshop.
