RCU uses a variety of teaching methods including Problem Based Learning (PBL) as first developed at McMaster’s University in Canada and Multiple Intelligences (MI) created by Hartford University. This helps to train students’ ability for both creative thought and advanced problem solving.
1) PBL sets up the kinds of situations that might occur in a real life situation and asks the students to consider the various alternative courses of action that might be suitable. This method of teaching students in practical day to day problem solving is much appreciated by employers
2) MI recognizes that all students are different and appreciate different learning styles such as linguistic, numeric, athletic or musical aptitudes. Lecturers use these different ways of learning to create activities and exercises that help to bring out the full potential of the students in an open, creative and confident manner.
