International Academic Environment
Our senior foreign teachers come from different countries, including the UK, Canada, Australia, Italy, and Singapore. They all have rich teaching experience, professional backgrounds and carry Foreign Experts Certificates. Our teachers impart broad professional training in an international academic setting.
ESL Unit
Small classes in English-class are provided to ensure good English comprehension in our institute. Freshman will study different levels of English after taking a placement test. Oxford University texts are used as teaching materials in studying basic English, while Cambridge texts are used in business English. Current materials using up to the week articles and information are used in Applied English, which covers computer and electronic language. Our professional foreign teachers bring variety to the courses, all of which are designed to greatly improve students’ English levels, step by step. Once the students’ English is up to standard, they take their major subjects in English. In effect, students study English and a major at the same time. This lays a solid foundation to become an inter-disciplinary talent.
Distinctive Teaching Models
International educational system: There are four terms in a year, of 12 weeks each. Terms begin in January, April, July and October. There are breaks of about one or two weeks between terms. The flexible enrollment is designed to avoid a peak of graduates in July, so that the demands of business in the school off season may be met. The result is a steady stream of graduates at different times of the year, which increases job opportunities for the graduates.
Teaching Methods: The theory of Multiple-Intelligences created at Harvard University, and Problem Based-Learning, from Mc Master University, Canada, are applied in the college. These theories are well understood and are used in the various courses, activities and events, to create a teaching environment with variety and power. These methods assist in the development of student potential, and stimulate studying. Problem Based-Learning is a teaching method that permits students to study effectively by themselves, as well as in class. This encourages independent thinking and shapes it to a model in which life-long research and self-development are natural to the students. Such skills are critical in a global market that changes steadily. The method instills strong abilities in identifying and solving actual business management issues, day by day, in the real world.
